When choosing a Fill-Rite DEF pump, it's important to consider factors like power source, application, and more. Our pumps come in a variety of different sizes and styles to suit your individual needs, so you can rest assured that you found the right pump for the job.

Watch our brief overview video to learn more about the most important factors you should consider when purchasing your next (or first) DEF transfer system:

Let’s talk about power your pump. There are four options when it comes to power sources: DC, AC, Hand-Operated, and Air-Operated. Your choice will be dependent on the type of application you have and your preferences.

DC-Powered Electric Pumps
  • Ideal for Mobile Applications – when DEF is transported out to the field onto job sites in a truck or trailer
  • Battery-Powered – since trucks and trailers already have batteries on board, DC DEF pumps just connect directly to the 12V batteries in the vehicle
  • Our Fastest DEF Pump – Delivers a flow rate of 8 GPM, perfect for quickly refilling DEF tanks on vehicles
AC-Powered Electric Pumps
  • Ideal for Stationary Applications – DEF totes or drums that are set in permanent locations, meaning they are stored in fixed location inside building or other area
  • Easy Plug-In – Since most permanent buildings will have AC electricity, these AC DEF pumps can conveniently plug in to any standard 115V wall socket
  • Our Fastest DEF Pump – Just like the DC powered DEF Pumps, these deliver a flow rate of 8 GPM and are perfect for quickly refilling DEF tanks on vehicles
Pneumatic or Air-Powered Pumps
  • Access to Compressed Air – this pump is ideal in applications with access to compressed air like automotive shops, maintenance facilities, etc.
  • Great Performance – although not quite as fast as the Fill-Rite electric DEF pumps, it still produces a flow rate of 6.5 GPM, which is still fast enough to quickly refill DEF tanks on most vehicles
Hand-Operated Pump
  • Ideal for Light or Infrequent Use – Hand-operated pumps, or manual pumps, are great for low volume refilling and less frequent use
  • No Electricity Needed – this pump does not require access to electricity or compressed air, it’s powered by you!
  • Cost Effective – Nearly 3X more cost effective than electric-and air-powered fuel transfer pumps
